First Novel Contest from Zondervan

It is not often that Zondervan accepts unsolicited fiction, so this is one opportunity you won’t want to miss.  The grand prize is a $10,000 publishing contract (advance against royalty)!

Zondervan’s First Novel contest is open “to writers who have attended a Mount Hermon Writer’s Conference or who are registered for the 2009 conference. The writer must not be published—fiction or non-fiction, print or
electronic.”

That’s quite the of motivation not only to submit your work, but also to attend their conference.

The deadline is November 1, 2008.

Here is what they are looking for:

We will accept entries in any of the categories listed below. We will
NOT accept Young Adult fiction, novellas, or short stories.
• Contemporary Fiction
• Historical Fiction (1950 and earlier)
• Romance (Historical and Contemporary)
• Suspense/Thriller/Mystery
• Sci-Fi/Fantasy
• Women’s Fiction
